a fabric runner for chaxi
The chabu is the fabric one places upon the stage for tea.
It is the foundational base of the ceremony.
These come from the northern reaches of Vietnam, procured and made into chabu on my recent travels.
All of our chabu are made from a hemp handwoven from scratch by our friend Ger, Mama Ti and their family of the Black H’mong tribe in Hau Thao village.
Hand dyed with local natural materials sourced from the land- including mud, yam, persimmon and an unidentified root besides bamboo clumps deep in the local forestland.
Each Chabu is approximately 100cm x 35cm
Each of these chabu runners have been handmade and dyed individually entirely from scratch through a lengthy manual modus, meaning each piece is unique and will vary slightly in texture, colour and make.
note* orders will be posted starting from Monday September 25.
