Shinto Tea Table | Large

A large table for ceremonial tea and contemplative living.

Made in collaboration with my dear friend Seamus Lynch of Shinto.Earth. Transpired through our desire to bond through our mutual love for tea and woodwork, these are the first of it's kind and designed to bring gravity and intent into one's space.

Processed with Yakisugiban technique, our tables reflect contemplations of dichotomy and it's reframing through the lens of non-dualism. Life, in accordance to death, and vice versa. To me, these tables create space to honour life through the embrace of the withered, decayed effects of charring each slab on flame. 

This table features a raw edge which still features some of the outer bark. This will overtime fragment and fall away, revealing split tones of black and brown.
